Local Axminster Ambassador Inspires with his Story in Parliament

70/30 Ambassador and Group Coordinator for Axminster, Rob Robinson took to the stage to deliver an outstanding presentation at WAVE Trust’s most recent event at the House of Lords in Westminster on Wednesday 8th February 2017.

During what was undeniably the highlight of the evening, Rob shared with his audience a very candid account of his childhood and the impact his own experiences of both child abuse and neglect had had on his life growing up. His presentation, which he used to explain his very own personal reasons for getting involved with the 70/30 campaign, moved the audience and inspired fellow ambassadors. He said, “I spent my whole life looking for the 70/30 campaign, because it should’ve been there for my mum and dad, and it’s a real shame that they weren’t there ‘coz we had to go through all of this, so that we can start campaigning now.”

Rob took the opportunity to encourage those in the room and everyone at home to not just want to child abuse and neglect, but to actually do something about it. He added, “If everyone gives just a little bit to this work, we will stop child abuse for our children and for our grandchildren. We all have a role to play, it’s up to us now to make it happen”.
